Professor Shu ChuenLi

Before taking up the position of Executive Director of AAS, Professor Shu Chuen Li was the former Chair and Head, Discipline of Pharmacy and Experimental Pharmacology, School of Biomedical Sciences and Pharmacy, University of Newcastle, Australia. He had previously held position as Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacy at the National University of Singapore, and Acting Director/Associate Director, Pharmaceutical Evaluation of Pharmaceutical Benefits Branch of Federal Department of Health and Human Services in Australia.
He also held positions of Visiting Professorship for various prestigious universities in the Asia-Pacific region, including Fudan University in China, UKM in Malaysia, Prince Songlka University in Thailand and Taylors University in Malaysia. He also held various consultant and advisory positions with many regulatory and academic organizations, e.g., ISPOR, HSA in Singapore and Hospital Authority in Hong Kong SAR etc. He was one of the former presidents of AASP, as well as a director of ISPOR.
Professor Li has extensive research and practical experience in different areas of pharmacy, including pharmacy education, pharmacy practice, pharmaceutical policy, pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacoeconomics. In fact, he is one of the few pioneers involved in the implementation of the first ever pharmacoeconomic guidelines in Australia, and has been very active in the field of HEOR and is a sought-after speaker at national and international conferences. He has also extensive experience in pharmacy practice and drug policy and has published more than 450 peer review articles and abstracts in these areas of research.
